Surgical asepsis is all about killing all the microorganism from surface or over a cloth. Medical asepsis is more different as it is more focus on maitaining cleanliness so as to prevent the contamination and prevent spread of disease.
Principles of Medical Asepsis
Medical asepsis blocks every step of the chain of infection. There are some methods used to prevent medical asepsis are given below,
Hand washing
Hand washing is primary method which helps to prevent 99 percent of crossinfection. WHO recommend 7 step process for handwashing. It includes a complete hand wash with steps, with minimum of 20 seconds with alcohol based hand rubs. It is done before and after touching of the patients.
Use of personal protective equipment

Why Medical asepsis is important in Hospitals?
Every day millions of bacteria spread from one person to another and from one area to another. Eliminating all the bacteria is impossible. Medical asepsis is a technique that proves to be effective to kill most of bacterias present around the patient. It also prevent the spread of infection each other. It make sure that the hospital environment is safe for the patient, relatives and hospital health worker.
