Protein Subunit Vaccines (Ex. Novavax)
Protein subunit vaccines uses a technique where they introduced pre made proteins spike in the body that with some adjuvant that generate immune response.
Viral Vector Vaccines
In this type, virus of same category is extracted and modified ex. modified adenovirus. This introduced in the body. It generate protein spike in the body same and generate an immune respnse.
Ex. AstraZeneca, Covieshield.
Inactivated virus vaccines (Ex. Covaxin)
This is the oldest method use to create vaccines. Polio and rabies vaccines are given this way.
Scientist takes actual virus like SARS-CoV-2 virus and then kill it in a lab. The killed and inactivated virus is injected into the body. Due to virus is dead it cannot be multiplied and cause disease. But, the immune system get a complete structure of virus and broad immune response is generated.
